Advantages of Installing a Modular Office

modular office

For several companies, modular offices are a long-term, portable solution.

You need more space in your facility. Time, budget and disruption of production are concerns as well as keeping the area clean and having construction flexibility of the structure. A modular office has several advantages compared to a stick built structure and is a great solution for each of the mentioned concerns.

How can a modular office be used?

Modular offices are constructed for a variety of reasons including offices, conference rooms, break rooms, equipment enclosures, clean rooms and guard shacks.

Are there many design options?

The structure of the modular office depends on your need and available space. However, you can customize any office. You can select single-story or two-story structures.

What if our facility needs change?

Modular offices are a long-term solution because they are portable. For example, if your location no longer has a need for the structure, the modular office can be unassembled and shipped to another department or location. Some modular offices are designed on a base, allowing a forklift to pick up and relocate the structure. Or, if you need more space, modular offices are configurable and expandable.

How long does it take to install?

A modular office can be shipped in as little as 48 hours and up to 4 weeks. The time range varies based on the type of structure and requested modifications. Compared to a stick built structure, the disruption to the facility may decrease if less people are involved with the install (i.e. electrician, HVAC technician). You also experience less noise and debris because drywall is not cut and sanded.

Are they difficult to maintain?

Modular offices can be painted and products can be incorporated into the materials for more effective washing. Fire-rated walls are also available. From a safety aspect, modular offices are designed with galvanized steel and extruded aluminum, which is sturdier than stick built wooden structures.

How do modular offices reinforce the Green Movement?

Project materials for a modular office can be designed to be LEED Certified. High efficiency lighting can also be installed.

Is a tax incentive available?

With modular offices, your company can take advantage of an accelerated depreciation. While stick built structures are written off in 29.5 years, modular offices qualify for a 7 year tax write-off.
