This course is designed to ensure your operators are trained in the safe method of a skid steer operation. Operators learn about product overview and controls, pre-operational inspection, potential hazard identification, understanding the work area and safe operating practices. Class participants take a written test and complete a hands-on evaluation.

OSHA TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

The intended use of skid steers and front loaders is to lift, move and load materials, transport materials for short distances and perform minor excavating. To prevent accidents and fatalities, our training class is designed to educate your employees on safe operation of the equipment. Skid steer training must:

  • Be provided by the employer to instruct operators about unsafe conditions & the elimination of hazards in the work area
  • Give general instructions regarding the inspection, application & operation of the skid steer
  • Include powered industrial truck instruction (1910.178) when the skid steer is used in an industrial application as a material handling device
